You’ll cruise across Lake Müritz, exploring its lakeside towns, tasting freshly caught fish and great local cuisine as you go and you’ll travel as far as the popular summer resort of Malchow, where you’ll soak up the lively summer vibe and explore a variety of fascinating historical sights.

After you have arrived and checked-in, we'll show you to your boat as quickly as possible. Spend time settling in, freshen up and await your pre-departure briefing which will be given by one of our base technicians. They will familiarise you with the boat’s domestic systems and give you a hands-on demonstration of the boat controls and how to operate it. They will make sure you are comfortable and confident controlling the boat, as well as navigating the waterway, before you set off.

If you haven’t already, you may wish to use this time to stock up on provisions for the week. The nearest supermarket is located in Rheinsberg, which is a 15 minute drive away (if you have your car with you). Or, if you have brought enough provisions with you for your first night, you’ll be in Rheinsberg tomorrow on your boat, so you could go shopping then instead.

From the lake, you will see the imposing Rheinsberg Castle by the water, surrounded by lush green forests – be sure to get some good photographs before you moor. This Rococo-style building was once home to the Prussian King, Frederick the Great. You can visit the castle and the museum and take a stroll in its beautifully designed gardens - you’ll be able to get a taste of why King Frederick described his years at Rheinsberg as the 'happiest of his life'. Afterwards, head to the small town centre, with its pretty painted houses and lovely shops. If you didn’t get the opportunity yesterday, there are several big supermarket here to stock up with supplies.

Lunch at Zum Fischerhof, Rheinsberg

Find a good place to drop anchor and enjoy swimming from your boat. And if you added some stand-up paddle boards to your booking, this is the opportunity to get them in the water and have some fun. The big lakes of Mecklenburg are your playground this week.

This aristocratic heritage is reflected in Mirow’s most memorable landmark, the spectacular Castle Island. You’ll find cafés and restaurants on the promenade and the old town centre, with its alleys and colorful half-timbered houses, is well worth a wander around. Or take a trip to the Engelscher Hof, a half-timbered former synagogue that recalls the area’s Jewish history.

Discover its historic old town centre, a huge windmill (which you can tour inside after 11am) and an impressive abbey. The principle landmark of the town is a 15 metre long revolving bridge, linking the island to the shore.

Explore Müritz National Park or Rechlin Nord

9am - 12noon

Rechlin is the largest municipality in the Müritz-Röbel region and lies at the southernmost entrance to the Müritz National Park. The National Park is abundant with water and bird life to discover and is best reached and explored by bike (if you have added bike hire to your booking). 

Alternatively, you may wish to visit the Aviation Technical Museum, just an 10 minute cycle to the north of central Rechlin... in 'Rechlin Nord'. This used to be the location of the Luftwaffe's main testing ground for new aircraft designs in Nazi Germany. You can see aircraft and examples of aviation technology from the two World Wars and the Soviet era.


Lunch at Captain's Inn, Rechlin Nord/Hafendorf

12pm - 1:30pm

After your bike ride in the National Park, or after visiting the Aviation Museum, we recommend staying in Rechlin Nord/Hafendorf for lunch, before returning to your boat in Rechlin. The Captain's Inn is located by the marina with a cosy, maritime ambience and serves regional cuisine, international wines and Lübzer or Duckstein beer.
