Rejoice in river cruises to grand châteaux, mediaeval churches, and towns with museums and art galleries.
Reviews for the The Lot Valley Cruise
Overall service for Le Boat was good however, I would suggest they include Wifi in the price as this service is very inconsistent on some routes and would alleviate possible friction between clients at the conclusion of the trip as I witnessed.
The Lot River cruise was sensational but maybe better for groups of more than 2 as the manual locks can get tiring.
Friendly and professional, in time and a truly great experience. Everything was ready and in working order as ordered. Only criticism we had because we come from Namibia in southerfn Africa is that the barbecue was not in our view a barbeque. It did not have a grid to barbecue meat on. Pan frying. The trip down the Lot River was an ecellent choice for us.
Admin very good with good teacher on how to handle the boat.
This is one of my best trips to France.Bring food only for one of each meal. There are plenty of restaurants and grocers. The WIFI on board did not work well. An International Data Roaming package is a must for finding cafe's, stores.and PatisseriesRent a boat with an extra cabin to spread out the luggage.Keep the ignition key in the upper primary steering location. My engine stalled in the lock gate and I had to run downstairs to restart the engine.Ask for a lesson in backing the boat into the dock.Mosquitoes were never a problem in July. All the boaters were amazing helpers at each dock.I had never driven a 43' boat in my life.3 lock doors were blocked with logs in the hinges. Be sure to have a pike with which to dislodge them.Don't miss the hotel restaurant at Bosier or the restaurant at the Hotel Truite Doree in Vers.Sample the Malbec wines next to the Cahors Tourist Office and then bring a case on the boat.Don't; waste money on the paid parking at the boat dock. The whole area is safe and occupied. We used 4 bikes in Cahors, St.Cirque le Popie, and Luzech, Flush the toilets before leaving the dock to see if they leak or back up.Boat cushions are a necessity.

Great tips, Gary! We greatly appreciate your feedback and hope to see you again soon.
I had travelled on 'canal' boats previously, and wanted to share the experience with a group of close friends who hadn't.
We loved the experience of river cruising, along with the unusual (and sometimes challenging) task of going through locks. The Lot scenery was very special, and the town of St-Cirq-Lapopie was our favourite, despite the huge thunderstorm.
We travelled as a couple. It was our second cruise.
Highly recommended, despite the need to retrace our route to return to the same base. The scenery is superb, and the river makes for more interesting boating than does the usual canal trip. Cirque Lapopie is the undoubted highlight; it is exquisite. But Cahors is also fascinating, and the market there is not to be missed.
