Dear Padraig,Thank you for sharing your feedback, it is much appreciated. We are very pleased you enjoyed your holiday with us and hope to welcome you on board with Le Boat again soon,Kind regards,The Le Boat team
Everything was excellent except the initiation period at the base (Narbonne). There were too many boats going off at the same time for the staff to handle properly. As a result, we waited for about 4 hours then were given the quickest familiarization with some things left out.
Stylish deluxe boat; friendly and very helpful base crew; wonderful weather; ever-changing towns and villages to explore; wonderful food and wine.
Narbonne - Sunday morning market at Les Halles; the Cathedral; the town and it's restaurants. Capestang - the quaint town; Wednesday morning market in the square; Church; restaurants and patisserie. Ventenac - Chateau for wine Carcassonne - Le Cite; restaurants and shops
The peace on the canal was amazing. Our boat was gorgeous. Mooring up in a mixture of locations was fantastic - sometimes alone on canal side and sometimes in marina-type locations. The restaurants we found along the canal in towns and villages all served fantastic food at reasonable prices. The kids enjoyed fishing off the back of the boat in the evening, my brother loved cycling to pick up croissants in the morning and my partner loved cooling off in the canal itself!
Le Somail is very beautiful with some great restaurants and the bread boat that's permanently moored there. Narbonne was a beautiful city to visit as we started our cruise and Carcasonne was an amazing city to visit at the end of it - highly recommended. We had a great stop at the Le Boat base in Homps from where we walked some 20 minutes to the lake, and spent an afternoon sunbathing on the pebble beach and swimming. We moored up near a bridge at Puicheric one night and enjoyed the stroll into the town, which although very quiet was pretty.
Great fun with good restaurants along the way. Organisation, brilliant. Saddest thing is the state of the trees. All plane trees have a disease brought into France by American ammunition boxes during the last war. This means all trees will have to go, but they are doing a good job of replanting .
We sailed to Bezier and looked at the wonderful ladder of locks. Carcassonne is a fabulous medieval city and should be visited by everybody.
