The Dual Nations Long Break

Alsace-Lorraine, France

The Dual Nations Long Break overview

Flexibility and leisure time go right together, ensuring that your boat holidays in Alsace are unforgettable. The city of Saarbrücken is just over the border in Germany, offering chic boutiques, gourmet dining and marvelous sunsets to all who venture near. The joy of canal cruising is the ability to set the pace and choose where to linger for a day of pure relaxation.

Please note that the Arzviller boat lift is on maintenance and due to reopen on August 1st, splitting the Alsace region in two sections. Until then, you will still be able to do a return trip from Hesse but please note that some section of the itinerary shown here won’t be accessible. In addition, during that period, we are operating cruises at our temporary base of Lutzelbourg – which is replacing Hesse for all cruises in the East section of the area. Don’t hesitate to consider this cruises if you want to discover this area of Alsace. View cruises

During this period, we have opened a temporary base at Lutzelbourg and created new cruises starting/ending there to allow you to cruise on the East section of the area.

Don't just take our word for it...
The Sarre canal from Hesse to Sarralbe was the most scenic and interesting and we wish we had spend an extra night in that part of the canal.
