Sample two-night itinerary from Smiths Falls

Day 1:  Arrive from 2pm to check-in and complete your pre-departure briefing and then we’d suggest spending the night at our moorings at Smiths Falls. Smith falls is full of great family activities, summer events in the park as well as great shopping and restaurants which are just a short walk away from our base.  (We recommend booking and paying for an early check in  (subject to availability)) if you would like to leave Smiths Falls on day one, as there are several locks to pass through when you leave Smith Falls and lockage opening times vary.

Day 2: Set of at 9am when the locks opens and cruise onto Lower Rideau Lake and head towards Rideau Ferry (2hrs). Enjoy the day on the water cruising on the Rideau Canal or moor at Rideau Ferry public dock where you can enjoy a top deck BBQ for lunch or dine at CC’s on the Rideau & their big lakefront patio.  You could also add bike hire to your booking and cycle 2.4km (1.5 miles) north-west of the moorings at Rdieau Ferry, where you’ll find Coutts Country Flavours. The farm harvests its own maple syrup, using around 5,800 maple syrup taps to produce over 36 different items of produce from four litre bottles of maple syrup to sweets, marinades and mustards. An alternative route could be to head to Beveridges Lock station for the day, moor at the lock station and take a nice walk up to Upper Beveridges Lock Station , kayak on the Tay Canal or enjoy a lunch onboard. Whatever you chose to do, make sure your set off in plenty of time to be back through the locks before they close. Spend you last night in Smiths Falls again – we’d recommend dinner at Chuckles Jack for something a bit special.

Day 3: After your last night on board, enjoy breakfast onboard or check out C’est Tout Bakery in downtown Smiths Fall for morning treats. Be ready to disembark and checkout by 9am.
